Atlantic Stage Presents Lend Me a Tenor

Atlantic Stage is bringing a comedy to the 79th Avenue Theatre with Ken Ludwig’s uproariously hilarious farce, Lend Me a Tenor. A preview performance is scheduled for Thursday, March 21, 2013 and the opening night performance and reception is Friday, March 22, 2013. The show runs Thursday through Sunday, March 21, 2013 through Sunday, April 7, 2013.

Lend Me a Tenor takes place in 1934 and the Cleveland Grand Opera Company stage is set for a one-night only command performance of Otello with the world’s greatest tenor, Tito Merelli, in the title role. But when the star arrives desperately late with his ego and jealous wife in tow, things don’t go exactly according to plan.

Directed by company member Steve Earnest, Lend Me a Tenor stars Equity actors Billy Sharpe as Max and Hunter Boyle as Tito. The show also features Kristin Shirilla as Maggie, Chuck Stokes as Saunders, Janine Cunningham as Maria, Taylor Wright as the bellhop, Anna Sheridan as Diana, and Dianne DeVaughn Stokes as Julia. Set design is by Dawn Drake Toney, light design is by J. Stephen Toney, sound design is by Mindi Blackburn Penn, and costumes are designed by Charles Armstrong.
