Heather Maloney and Sleeping Policeman

A Night of Singer-Songwriter Talent

Touring singer-songwriter Heather Maloney and local singer-songwriter Sleeping Policeman share the stage on Friday, April 20, 2012 at Fresh Brewed Coffee House.

Heather Maloney had one of her first public shows at a small coffee shop in Northampton Massachusetts in September of 2009. She was so nervous and timid that she had to be prodded onto the stage. In July of 2011, she walked out onto the stage at the Calvin Theater in front of 1,500 fans of the Grammy Award winning artist Jonny Lang, and brought them to their feet in applause. Jonny immediately asked her to open three more shows and called her “an extremely talented songwriter and incredibly great singer.” Heather has played over 225 shows in 20 states in 20 months, sharing the stage with such celebrated acts as Jonny Lang, Chip Taylor & Carrie Rodriquez, Mike & Ruthy, Vance Gilbert, Dala, David Wax Museum, Devil Makes Three, Caravan of Thieves, Jeffrey Gaines, Jill Sobule, Meg Hutchinson, Cliff Eberhardt and many others. Heather is currently touring nationally in support of her 2011 release and second full-length album Time & Pocket Change.

Sleeping Policeman is an original musician currently based in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The project started in December 2008. “I am one person sharing my heart and soul through songs. I am a voice for me, and I can be a voice for you. I write and play what I feel. Nothing I say is fake; you can count on a genuine message. This project is very personal because it is only me. I am just one young man sharing his view of experiences with others. No greater joy comes for me than that of sharing my songs with people that connect with them. I am a singer. I am a songwriter. I am a guitar player. I am a poet. I am Sleeping Policeman.”

Fresh Brewed Coffee House is located at 933 Broadway Street in the heart of downtown Myrtle Beach. Doors open at 8:00 p.m. for Heather Maloney and Sleeping Policeman, and admission is $5.
