Through The Lens, Through The Years: An Evening with Jack Thompson

Evening with Jack Thompson

The public is invited to attend Through The Lens, Through The Years: An Evening with Jack Thompson. The Grand Strand’s premier photographer since 1959, Jack Thompson has become synonymous with Myrtle Beach photography, documenting and preserving the history of the area. The evening features Thompson signing prints from his photography collection along with his two books, Memories of Myrtle Beach and Shoeless Joe.

Local photography and print graphics company, 803 Labs, will have Thompson’s prints and books available for purchase. Guests can enjoy photo opportunities either with or by the photographer in front of large backdrops displaying a few of his best known images, courtesy of enlargements by Tyson Sign Company. A retrospective of Thompson’s career, produced by Stages Video, will run every half hour throughout the evening.

The event takes place on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the atrium of The Market Common’s Grand 14 Cinema, which is located at 4002 Deville Street in Myrtle Beach. Admission is free. For more information, visit the Friends of Jack Thompson facebook page here. To learn more about Jack Thompson, visit his website here.
